Got to love these Brown Pelicans who are becoming very numerous here on the Outer Banks.

This guy is doing the typical low water glide in the Wanchese Harbor.

"IN Flight"

Capturing images of a single bird in flight is always challenging in some aspect of photography.

Do you use a tripod vs hand holding, trying to keep a constant focus on the subjects eye so it remains sharp on the image, locking in the motion vs showing some wing blur to created a sense of movement, these are just some of the things we keep in mind while were setting up the shot. Not to mention being in the right spot at the right time. And lets not leave out the angle, low high shooting upwards or downward all of these factors play into a good bird in flight image. Hey then try even reverting to black and white to see how that makes the image feel.

Everyday there is a new image to be created. Portraits, landscapes, wildlife, or what ever you come across. Never leave the house or office without your camera "today's shot is gone tomorrow"

Ah the air has changed, fall has come and is about to give way to winter. Of course everyone love's the mountains this time of year but here on the Outer Banks we can also brag a little on our back woods scenes. But in my opinion it's all about the artist (GOD) it's just my job to show his work for all to see.
